Eurostat released new figures today: in the second quarter 2026, house prices in Spain were, on average, 12.1% higher than a year earlier.
In the eurozone, prices rose by 4%, while across the European Union the increase was 4.7%.
Spain has now recorded double-digit annual house price growth for four consecutive quarters.
At the same time, fewer people are buying property. According to figures from the Ministry of Housing, the number of property transactions fell by approximately 7% in the second quarter.
This paints a picture: sales are falling, yet the shortage of available properties continues to push prices upwards. Source:
