Unique Characteristics

New Golden Mile has rapidly become one of the most sought-after areas for property purchases, thanks to its exceptional amenities and close proximity to Marbella. Part of the “Golden Triangle”, which combines qualities reminiscent of Marbella, yet it retains a distinct traditional charm.

Numerous luxury gated communities offer sophisticated living in highly secure and private environments. With a variety of architectural styles available, finding your dream home in New Golden Mile is simpler than ever.

Unique Characteristics

Named after Marbella’s famous Golden Mile, New Golden Mile, despite not being adjacent to this landmark, has developed its own unique identity. Over the past 20 years, the area has seen significant growth, reaching peak demand recently.

Located between San Pedro de Alcantara in Marbella and eastern Estepona, the New Golden Mile falls within Estepona’s municipal area. Thoughtful planning has ensured no high-rise buildings near the coast, boosting real estate demand. The ease of obtaining construction licenses, unlike in Marbella, and the abundance of available land make it an ideal place for building dream homes.

Distinct Areas

The New Golden Mile can be divided into beachfront and hillside sections. The beachfront areas are especially popular with northern European buyers. The mountainside of the coastal road features well-established neighborhoods like Atalaya, Bel-Air, Benavista, El Paraiso, and the village of La Cancelada.

Golf and Recreation

Golf enthusiasts will find three excellent courses on the New Golden Mile:

1. *El Paraiso Golf Club*: Designed by Gary Player in 1973, it offers two 18-hole courses amidst beautiful greenery, catering to all skill levels.

2. *Los Flamingos Golf*: Located next to the Anantara Villa Padierna Hotel, this prestigious par 71 course offers exclusivity and stunning views.

For tennis and padel lovers, several clubs provide top-notch facilities:

- *Bel Air Tennis and Padel Club*: Family-oriented with programs for all ages and skill levels, featuring six hard courts, four clay courts, and a padel academy.
- *RozaRossa Tennis Club*: A modern facility with nine courts, a swimming pool, and a restaurant, offering private lessons with professional instructors.
- *Villa Padierna Racquet Club*: Near the beach, this club offers 15 padel courts and two quick surface tennis courts, along with the world's first padel court and an academy.

Horse riding enthusiasts can enjoy facilities like Pony Club Villacana and Centro de Doma El Padrón, offering riding lessons, camps, and competitions.

Kitesurf school you can find near 5* IKOS hotel on the Heaven Beach.

Gastronomy

The New Golden Mile boasts diverse dining options:

- *Kalma & Kaos*: A dual-concept restaurant offering exceptional sushi and Mediterranean delicacies.
- *Tikitano*: Mediterranean cuisine with spectacular sea views and an elegant setting.
- *Club del Mar Villa Padierna**: An exclusive beach club serving caviar, paella, and seafood, accompanied by signature cocktails.
- *Beso Beach*: A lively fusion of Mediterranean and Basque cuisines, also found in Mallorca and Ibiza.

The newly built METT Hotel and Resort features two restaurants:
*Isola*: Inspired by southern Italy, offering homemade pasta, pinsas, and Italian favorites, and
*Ammos*: Focuses on authentic Greek cuisine, delivering rich flavors and culinary textures.

*Sonora Beach* offers a Fresh Funky Fusion menu, combining Asian-inspired dishes with Mediterranean favorites, creating a vibrant and flavorful dining experience.

In the village of Cancelada, there are several notable dining options:

- *El Carnicero Cancelada*: Known for its wide selection of meats, this grill restaurant offers a variety of options including Black Angus, Aberdeen Angus, and USA Nebraska cuts. Popular dishes include Chateaubriand, beef fillet, and boneless rib eye.
- Multiple **pizzerias run by Italians**, providing authentic Italian pizzas and other delicacies.

For the traditional Andalusian chiringuitos we would recommend *Chiringuito PePe’s* in Costalita and *Chiringuito Torre Velerin*.

Schools

The area hosts several private schools:

- *The International School Estepona*: Offers Montessori education for nursery and primary children.
- *Atalaya International School*: Provides Spanish and English education from ages 3 to 18, including GCSE, IB, and the Spanish Baccalaureate.
- *Mayfair International Academy*: Based on the British Curriculum, offering education for children aged 3 to 18.
- *Atlas American School*: Follows the American curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12.
- *Colegio San Jose*: A bilingual education center offering both the Spanish and International Baccalaureate.

Conclusion

With its rising popularity, New Golden Mile attracts a diverse array of cultures and nationalities, making it a vibrant place to live. Its blend of luxury living, excellent amenities, and natural beauty ensures that it will continue to be a prestigious address on the Costa del Sol.
